Jaska Kainulainen

I hold the title of docent at the University of Helsinki. My research interests include early-modern political thought, rhetoric, education, Jesuits and the history of emotions. I have published a monograph on Paolo Sarpi (Brill 2014) and several articles/book chapters on various themes relating to early-modern history of ideas. I am currently finalising my second book Early Jesuits and the Rhetorical Tradition (under contract with Routledge). My next project will explore emotions in early-modern travel writing.
